Offline Mobile App for Moana Sub-Surface Temperature Data Visualisation

Project Description
SysReforms designed and developed Ocean Monitor, an offline mobile application supporting the Moana Project of the Pacific Community (SPC), a regional initiative advancing climate monitoring and sustainable fisheries management across Pacific Island nations.
The app lets fishers, scientists, and field teams connect with ZebraTech's Deck Units via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to retrieve sub-surface temperature and depth data, decode it, and visualize it through intuitive charts, all without internet connectivity. Its offline-first architecture synchronizes data with SPC servers whenever connectivity is available. It is built for iOS and Android and optimised for low-power maritime environments.
Key features: offline data collection and visualisation, BLE integration, secure pairing through ZebraTech Deck Unit serial authentication, encrypted data transmission, interactive visualizations using Chart.js and D3.js, and automatic synchronisation. The solution strengthens the Fishing Vessel Ocean Observing Network (FVON) by converting raw sensor data into actionable insights.
